Position Summary

This position exists in the Radiology Department and involves responsibility for performance of diagnostic medical examination of patients using real-time ultrasound imaging and duplex Doppler ultrasound. The work is performed under general direction of a Radiologist with leeway allowed for exercise of independent judgment in carrying out technical details of the work. The incumbent does related work as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by Radiologist, evaluates images for technical and diagnostic quality.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
  • Maintain equipment and work area.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Maintains and records appropriate documentation regarding procedures according to established protocols.
  • Assists with student interns.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program
  • Licensure:* RDMS Eligible or RDMS Certified*
