How Long Does it Normally Take?

On average the onboarding process for volunteers can take up to two weeks, depending on your time and availability.

Background and Health Checks

To prepare volunteers for acute care and extended care settings and to protect the patients and community we serve, the onboarding process for new volunteers is thorough. Since you will potentially work with patients, their families, and visitors, we will require a health review and criminal background screening to ensure – to the best of our ability – your and the community’s safety.  Also, the New York State Department of Health requires that all new volunteers be evaluated by a physical exam prior to placement.

Volunteer Application

This form will be transmitted to Oneida Health electronically. Please understand that though secure, the information submitted is not encrypted to meet HIPPA requirements. We request that you do not transmit your personal health care information using this form.
