Where are we?

The main campus is located off NYS Route 5 in Oneida, NY. The address that you can put into your GPS is 321 Genesee St, Oneida, NY 13421.

Oneida Health is a 101-bed acute care hospital and 160-bed extended-care facility and short-term rehab facility licensed by the State of New York. Our large campus houses state of the art technology and healthcare professionals with the know-how needed to keep you and your loved ones on your feet and healthy.

Parking

Campus Locations

  • Visitor parking is designated directly across the street from the main entrance or in the “handicap” spaces adjacent to the main entrance circle (with appropriate authorization).
  • Emergency and same-day surgery patients’ parking is in the designated “patient/ED” or “handicap” parking spaces (with appropriate authorization).
  • Patient drop-off and pick-up is at the main entrance (circular drive).

Some quick rules you should know

There are a few things that we have to do to make sure everything runs smoothly and your time at Oneida Health is as good for you as possible. Below we will go over everything from admission information, to photography, and our scent policy.

Admission

Your personal information is strictly confidential; we do not distribute your information to anybody outside of our staff. We collect this information to allow our staff and security to be aware of who you are and what your needs may be. What will you need to bring:

  • A form of Photo ID (ie. License, passport, state ID, etc.)
  • Health insurance information
  • A list of medications and dosage
  • A list of any allergies and other special medical needs

The New York State Health Care Proxy Law allows you to appoint someone you trust to make health care decisions in your stead should you lose the ability to make decisions on your own behalf. These proxies can be a family member or close friend with whom you can confidently place your well being in their hands.

Please DO NOT bring the following items into the hospital when being admitted:

  • Valuable papers or documents
  • Scented personal care products
  • Items of sentimental value, jewelry or expensive clothing
  • Large amounts of cash
  • Alcoholic beverages or drugs
  • Large electronics, radios, or plug-in appliances unless otherwise approved by staff

Visiting hours

Medical/Surgical Unit (4th floor) & intensive care unit:

10:00am – 8:00pm Daily
The hospital allows a family member, friend, or close acquaintance to be present with the patient for emotional support over the course of their stay. Consideration will be given for visits outside of the normal visiting hours on a case-by-case basis.

Maternity Ward:

10:00am – 8:00pm Daily
Fathers and grandparents are welcome anytime during the mother and child’s stay with us. For the safety of our babies and their mothers, no visitors under the age of 13 are permitted with the exception being siblings.

Pediatrics:

Parents are encouraged to be with their children at all times during their stay, 24 hours a day, unless otherwise advised by medical or nursing staff. Other family members and friends are welcome to visit during the normal (10:00am – 8:00pm daily) visiting hours. Please limit visitors to 2 at a time. No children under 13 are permitted to visit in Pediatrics.

Billing

We try very hard to make navigating the healthcare system as easy as possible for you and your loved ones. We provide information about the price of medical services we provide, as well as health plans that we participate with and the names, numbers, and billing contact information of our contracted/affiliated providers. Please read our Patient Financial Policy or for further questions about your bill, please contact our Customer Service Department at 315-361-2087 between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday through Friday.

Fire Safety

We conduct regular fire drills and you may experience one during your hospital stay or visit. When you hear the fire alarm, please return to your room. We will inform you should any action become necessary beyond simply staying in your room. If you are in the Hospital Cafeteria, please stay there until the all clear signal is given. Elevators must not be used when there is a fire or a fire drill.

Smoking

There is absolutely no smoking permitted on campus. This is for your safety and the health of our patients. If you would like to quit and want more information about smoking cessation classes, call 315-361-2075 or “Tri-County Quits” at 315-624-5371.

No Scent Policy

Please refrain from wearing perfumes, aftershaves, scented hair sprays, hand lotions, baby lotion, deodorant, etc. There are increasing allergies among the public, patients, and staff—this rule is for their health, comfort, and safety. Thank you for your cooperation.

Photography

Out of respect for the privacy and dignity of our patients and staff, photography and video recording are prohibited.


The Hospital: What does it have for visitors?

ATM

ATMs are available for the convenience of our visitors. There is one in the café area and another located just outside of the elevator on the first floor.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is open from 7:00am – 6:30pm at the Station Break Café & Grill. Hot and cold food is available in several vending machines around campus 24 hours a day as well. They can be found on the first floor outside of the café, on the third floor near the lullaby center, and the fourth floor waiting room.

Religious/Spiritual services

If you, or a loved one in our care, are looking to spiritual or religious consultation during your or their stay we recommend that you contact your religious/spiritual leader prior to a prolonged stay with us. On-call clergy are available in the event of an emergency. Volunteer Chaplin services are available for patients and families and our Chapel is located just inside the main entrance.

Phones, TV, and WiFi access

Patient rooms are equipped with free WiFi, telephones (for local calls) and televisions.

Communication Resources and Interpreters

If you are hearing impaired and need a signing interpreter, please let us know so we can supply you with the means to communicate with staff and receive the best care possible! We also provide interpretation services for non-English speaking patients. All communication services are free of charge and your privacy will be fully maintained.
