Oneida, NY – The Oneida Healthcare Auxiliary recently met and elected new officers. The purpose of the Auxiliary is to support Oneida Healthcare’s Hospital and the Extended Care patients and residents and to promote the health and welfare of the community. The following community members were elected for a two year term:
- Marty Mallery – President
- Connie Burleson – 1st Vice President
- Mary Gwilt – 2nd Vice President
- Cindy Whipple – Secretary
- Carol Musgrove – Treasurer
- Nancy Rinehard – Past President
The Oneida Healthcare Auxiliary was established in 1915 with the mission of supporting the needs of the hospital, staff and patients by providing comfort care items which are outside of the operating budget. Over the years, the Auxiliary has hosted the Oneida Healthcare Auxiliary Follies, fashion shows, bake sales and other fundraising events to support their mission. All funds raised by the Auxiliary go directly to meet the needs of patients and residents.
“We are very fortunate to have an active group of community members on our Auxiliary who share a singular vision with us for providing exceptional care, always,” said Gene Morreale, President and CEO at Oneida Healthcare. “We congratulate their newly elected officers and thank them for their ongoing commitment to our organization’s mission of providing the highest quality of care, close to home.”
In the past few years, the Auxiliary has allocated over $10,000 to purchase items such as recliners for patient/resident rooms, a portable cardiac monitor for the ED, an oximetry unit for the ICU, bariatric chairs for Radiology patients and many more items that benefit patient care. The Auxiliary also provides knitted hats for newborns, hand sewn teddy bears for pediatric patients, walker and wheelchair bags for ECF residents as well as comfort pillows for surgical patients.
