ONEIDA, NY January 30, 2026— Representative John W. Mannion today announced $358,000 in federal Community Project Funding to support critical infrastructure improvements at Oneida Health, helping ensure reliable hospital operations and continued access to care for patients across Madison County and the Mohawk Valley.

The funding will be used to support essential electrical infrastructure upgrades at Oneida Health. These improvements are critical to maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations during power fluctuations or outages, strengthening system reliability, and protecting patient care at a rural health facility that serves as a lifeline for the Mohawk Valley.

Representative John W. Mannion (NY-22) said, “Access to quality health care—especially in rural communities—depends on strong, reliable hospitals like Oneida Health. This investment strengthens critical infrastructure, helps keep care close to home, and makes this facility more resilient for the future. I’m grateful to the health care workers who show up every day for patients, and this funding helps ensure they have the dependable systems they need to continue delivering high quality care.”

Felissa Koernig, President & CEO of Oneida Health, said, “On behalf of Oneida Health, we are deeply grateful for Representative Mannion’s leadership and support of rural health care. These infrastructure upgrades are essential to ensuring that our hospital can continue to provide safe, reliable, and uninterrupted care to the communities we serve. This investment strengthens the foundation of our facility and protects the critical services our patients depend on every day.”

The Oneida Health investment is part of a broader package of Community Project Funding priorities advanced by Representative Mannion in partnership with local leaders across the district. Eleven additional priorities totaling $11,249,000 for Central New York and the Mohawk Valley were signed into law last week, supporting investments that strengthen public safety, replace lead service lines, modernize water and wastewater systems, expand workforce training, and advance cutting-edge research critical to America’s economic and national security.

Three projects—including the redevelopment of the St. Luke’s Hospital campus and upgraded baggage equipment at Syracuse Hancock International Airport—passed the House and are awaiting consideration by the Senate.
