Oneida, NY (March 5, 2026) – Building on significant strides made in 2025 including expanding access, strengthening partnerships and enhancing specialty care across the region, Oneida Health has plans to continue the expansion of its Cancer Care program in 2026.
Oneida Health was founded in 1899 as a four-bed hospital in the City of Oneida. Today, the hospital is an award-winning, technology-leading provider of healthcare services. Its mission is to provide the highest quality of care close to home.
Featured services include ambulatory surgery, audiology, breast care, cancer care, the da Vinci Surgical System, ENT Specialists of Oneida, family care, extended care facility, GI specialists, home medical equipment, hospital, imaging, lab, maternity with the Lullaby Center, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, outpatient therapy, podiatry care, primary care services, pediatrics, quick care, short-term rehabilitation (ECF), skilled nursing, sleep center, surgical specialists, women’s health, wound care and hyperbaric medicine center, and vascular care.
The hospital has joined the Upstate Telestroke Network, improving rapid stroke evaluation for local patients. Pediatric services grew as Oneida Pediatric Group’s Oneida and Camden offices, along with Dr. Kinkee Chung’s Rome practice, formally integrated into the system, creating a unified pediatric network across Madison and Oneida counties.
“Our partnership with Hamilton Orthopedics continues to provide access to high-quality orthopedic care for patients throughout the region,” said Sara Reinhardt, director of marketing and development for Oneida Health – Foundation. “We are committed to delivering exceptional care — always to the patients we serve.”
The mission of Oneida Health is to plan, promote, provide and coordinate the highest quality progressive and comprehensive health care services for the greater Oneida area and surrounding communities. Its vision is to serve as a community of caring professionals with up-to-date skills, working together to deliver personalized, coordinated care, while employing advanced technology, resulting in a positive experience for patients, residents and their families.
Oneida Health’s Circle of Care is a network of leading medical facilities and more than 100 local physicians. As part of OH’s Circle, patients never have to sacrifice local accessibility for world-class care, Reinhardt said. Oneida Health has more than 20 care centers locally, ensuring that in their time of need, patients have the peace of mind knowing care is just around the corner.
“Our community of local physicians means an ever-expanding pool of expertise,” said Reinhardt. “This knowledge keeps OH on the cusp of medical technology and treatment. With da Vinci certified physicians, we have helped reduce patient recovery time. Our imaging centers are helping identify diseases early, so treatment is more effective. At our renowned Sleep Center, we’re helping patients sleep easy by treating a variety of sleep disorders.”
“By providing local physicians with local facilities they trust, we’re helping keep care local. This makes it easier on family, and most of all on you, the patient,” she added.
All primary care offices also offer in-office social work services to support behavioral health needs, and the system opened a new multi-surgeon general surgery practice on its main campus.
“We are proud to have received a five-star rating for nurse communications through HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), reflecting our commitment to exceptional patient experience,” said Reinhardt.
Starting off 2026, Oneida Health has continued to strengthen and expand its comprehensive Cancer Care program. A new partnership between Oneida Radiation Oncology and Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY helps ensure patients receive high-level radiation treatment close to home.
“Combined with our medical oncology partnership with Roswell Park (headquartered in Buffalo), patients now have access to cancer treatments without leaving the region,” Reinhardt explained. “Collaboration between Dr. Mary Ellen Greco and general surgeon Dr. Lenee Plauche in our Breast Care Center enhances coordinated care, while our modern infusion center provides a comfortable and convenient setting for cancer and medical infusions outside of a hospital environment. Together, these services give patients exceptional access to advanced treatments in their own community.”
As Oneida Health moves further into 2026, the hospital remains focused on the need to expand access to primary care and behavioral health. The system recently added a nurse practitioner to its Verona primary care office and a physician assistant to the Oneida Health Family Care Center in Oneida, strengthening capacity and improving appointment availability.
Beyond primary and behavioral health, Oneida Health continues to prioritize women’s health, including comprehensive maternity services and a full labor and delivery program that allows families to welcome their babies right at Oneida Health.
The organization also remains committed to cancer care close to home, general surgery, orthopedics, and a wide range of specialty services across Oneida and Madison counties.
“Looking ahead to 2026 and 2027, Oneida Health will continue expanding access, investing in providers, and strengthening the comprehensive care network that keeps our communities healthy and supported in both mind and body,” Reinhardt said.
