oneidahcNews, Press Release

The Leap Frog Group announced their national fall 2016 hospital safety scores.

Oneida, NY – Oneida Healthcare announced today that the hospital recently received an “A” in the 2016 Fall Hospital Safety Grade from The Leap Frog Group. They represent one of only 15 hospitals in New York State to receive the top grade ranking them among the safest hospitals in the state.

“Our staff at every level is committed to creating an environment that produces exceptional care for the patients we serve, “ said Gene Morreale, President and CEO of Oneida Healthcare. “The combination of these results and the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, which we received earlier in 2016, is a testament of our staff and physicians who ensure every day that our patients receive the highest level of safety, care, and patient experience possible.”

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assigns A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide, represent how well hospitals protect their patients from errors, injuries, and infections. “Protecting patients from harm is the most important charge for any hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We recognize and appreciate ‘A’ hospitals’ vigilance and continued dedication to keeping their patients safe.”

The Leapfrog score is based on 30 national performance and patient safety measures. Oneida Healthcare is the only area hospital to receive an “A” for patient safety throughout Onondaga, Madison, and Oneida County.
