Oneida Health Commits to Excellence
Oneida, NY – Oneida Health is proud to announce that it has joined the Healthcare Association of New York State’s Commitment to Excellence Initiative which is designed to showcase Oneida Health’s significant and ongoing commitment to quality and patient safety. By joining the HANYS Commitment to Excellence Initiative, Oneida Health is reinforcing its dedication to achieving and maintaining quality and safe care.
As part of the Commitment to Excellence Initiative, Oneida Health has an annual quality improvement program that requires Board of Trustee and Senior Leadership oversight, actively uses evidence based best practices for quality and safety, routinely analyzes data and outcomes to inform performance and participates in Healthcare Association of New York State’s educational programs for quality and safety and will use information gained to further improve overall quality and safe performance.
Oneida Health has consistently been recognized by national entities for its performance in patient quality and safety. This includes 2019 recognition by Healthgrades as a Top 2% hospital in the country for patient safety, 5 star recognition by CMS for the quality provided in its Extended Care Facility as well as CMS recognition of its hospital based clinics for commitment to high quality, high value care and improving the patient experience. Oneida Health also uses an Emergency Department post-visit patient feedback tool called Cipher Health and consistently scores above 90% satisfaction from patients for nursing and physician care services. Oneida Health has recently been recognized by the Oneida Daily Dispatch by being voted Best of the Best by community members in 2019 for Cancer Care, Hospital, Physical Therapy, Senior Living and its Quick Care programs.
